Hello everyone hopefully someone could shed some light on my 'problem' not 100% sure it's a problem or just me but after installing my manifold and egr delete my car feels a little sluggish it just doesn't seem to pick up as quick as before not sure if it's just me or what, I've plugged the two vaccines with screws and cable tied them out the way, the other problem I had was limp mode could that be related to the vac lines operating the variable vanes? Tonight it didn't happen tho I thrashed it and it was fine on my boost gauge so I'm a little puzzled, sorry for the long post but any help will be great

I've done that a couple of times it was just a couple of times since I did the egr delete with the new manifold didn't know it if was anything to do with the vac lines or anything

Ah right, I'm not that familiar with the setup on the diesel models, but if the 'caps' on your vac lines aren't 100% airtight, and they share a vac source with the turbo, then i could easily see that causing there not to be enough vacuum to activate the vanes.

Maybe try putting a cable tie, or even a thick bit of tape or similar, around the screws to make sure they are 100% vac tight.

Not sure what benefit you were hoping for from the replacement of the intake manifold - as far as I know the ARL and ALH intake manifolds are the same.

How was the EGR delete achieved - by replacing it with a straight pipe? But in any case I'd look at the bits you've disturbed, the intake system seals, and make sure you haven't got a boost leak.

The vac lines will be for EGR and Anti-shudder valve. ASV only activates on engine shutdown so it's unlikely to be a problem. EGR however is active whenever you demand power on acceleration, so it is a possibility. Try applying a little vaseline to the bolt (it is a bolt I hope and not a woodscrew) that you have put into the EGR vac line, to ensure a good seal.

I wasn't expecting nothing I'm just getting some stuff together ready for new turbo nozzles and remap and the arl is a tubular manifold alh isn't seems to have better airflow there's no boost leaks what so ever, it hasn't gone into limp mode for a few days now so could it if been the ecu had adjusted to accommodate the new airflow and egr delete? Yes its a race pipe the vac lines are plugged off with bolts not screws

When you took the EGR valve out how clean was it inside? If at the stage of very noticeable carbon build up then I bet further down the system - Turbo intake will be almost as bad. I've used the Mr Muscle cleaning method several times on various cars and it works well.

I get the Mr Muscle equivalent from Poundland. I also rigged up an extension cable using an old bicycle cable housing, sealed one end to the canister nozzle "straw". Much easier than trying to get the can down there.

Lets hope it was the ECU settling down and happy miles ahead.

Yeah I've done me muscle a few times when I had the original egr valve in the system and works very well feels like a different car but I'm hoping I won't have to do that again for a while now
