So just for my own info then is tjis correct ? :

Non-PD's you can blank it, block it etc & that does the trick & no CEL light

PD's pre 04 can be turned down by VAG.com & this works ? If you disconnect. block etc then it does throw a CEL light ?

Post 04 PD's you can unplug & occasionally get a CEL ? but VAG.com no good ?

I have a Leon 110 tdi 2004 model non PD and have removed the EGR. Even when adjusted with Vag com it would still throw up the CEL once in a while. To completely eliminate the CEL you need to have the ECU map modified, I mapped mine out myself but you will have to see your local chip tuner.

hey guys wanna do the egr this week just wanna know the best way to do it? blank plate with or with out hole?? race pipe??

and is there a way to do it with out throwing CEL??

and wat do u loose if you replace it??

thank you very much

You are right it won't mak any differnce at all.
Only way on later cars is to blank it off but put a 5mm hole in the plate if you dont want the check light on.
