Thanks for checking. I just dug out my 'Maximum Boost' by Corky Bell and it's suggesting that where you might see combined EGT of say 900 degrees C, it might only be 600 degrees off a single port....

if you get egt's >1000'C then you may suffer exhaust housing distortions, wastegate cracking etc. if post turbine measurement it can be 100-150'C higher pre-turbine remember.

my IHI used to run 1100'C it turns out, and on IHI >900'C and you are toast in the housing dept. they're not good at high temps like some other makes. My hybrid mitsi/garrett has been >900'C in race duty, no housing problems. Usually running 850'C to 900'C with minimal off throttle spikes to >900'C

That and the wideband gauge are two I always make reference too.. health check.
