Great! Nice one. Yeah much less hassle with the ready done kit. I would agree with Jay that anyone attempting the job will find it much easier buying the ready done kit / less hassle. All I can say about the okzam eBay kit is - I've purchased three of these now off eBay and all three have worked ok? two on my car (bought at different intervals) and one for a mates car? My decision at the time was dictated by ££ as I was skint- anyone considering the job- eurocarparts £70 per door, in my case that would have been £140, bearing in mind you can now get repair kits for around £5/£10 per door. But as Jay experienced if it goes tits up your left with an exposed door. I personally wouldn't hesitate purchasing the kit again, but as Jay said there may be quality control issues on such kits, but starting at a fiver one can't grumble.

Completely agree with Rich and to be fair to Okzam he refunded me for the kit and acknowledged it was slightly too small. I can see how the kit could be a very good and cheap fix, I was just unlucky!

This happened to my car too and I, very stupidly, kept putting it off until the cables were completely gone. I had to pay £220 with parts and labour to fix it (something still not quite 100% right with it either...), it is an 04 plate though so I suppose it is doing well going by how often this fault happens!

This has just now happened to Wifey's car, and i am pondering getting a ready made kit off ebay, looking to be about 50 quid ish. My biggest problem is getting the door panel off as I cannot work out how its done. I have had the handle off, the top section and can see the window etc through the holes, but after removing every bolt i can see, i simply cant budge the door. Ive just put it all back together for now till i can buy either a kit or the prepared runners (or i could get a whole door from a breakers lol).

Cheers Jay. I can get the handle part off no problem but am sure I need to get the who,e door card off, but it just wont budge. I am guessing I need to get the bottom panel off as well. I'll have a poke about on youtube. Just gonna buy the pre-built regulator kit and do it at the weekend

Thanks for your help Jay. Stripped the door down, and after a little pusha nd pull got the whole thing off. Had a panic in that the one i was sent doesnt have the prongs that go into the door, but it all fits and works well. Probably the fiddliest bits were getting the bit attached tpo the motor spindle andgetting the actual main door panel off, but hey ho its done now. As you can see in the picture, the old one was shredded so its no wonder it broke.

Thanks again Jay, thats a pint I owe you

Nice work, it is a fiddly job but once you've done it it's easy to replicate! I've done it twice now! Thank the YouTube guy that video was really helpful!!
