Electric window switch illumination

Hi, I have a problem on my 55 plate Cupra fr and was wondering if anybody could shed some light PLEASE.
My problem is that my window switches on all 4 doors and mirror adjusters do not illuminate when the lights are turned on. Also, the digital readout on the air-con doesn't light up either. I have tried the search function but had no luck at all.
I presume it may be a fuse but have removed them all and they appear to be fine.
I would appreciate any help with this one.

Most likely the dimmer switch by the headlight switch needs replacing

Thanks very much for your reply mate. It's funny you should mention that because I was having a little fiddle the other night and noticed that the dimmer didn't appear to dim the dashboard lights so it may well be the culprit. I will try and have a look over the weekend and let you know the results.

sounds to me that's the problem then mate. its been known for those to be faulty across the VAG range

If you are replacing the dimmer let me know please as I also have this problem with my cupra cheers mate

Yes thanks mate. I finally got round to removing the switch today and for some strange reason the plug wasn't actually plugged in so pushed it in and clicked it home and hey presto we have light.
I dread to think why somebody has disconnected it in the first place but it could not have come loose by itself.

My problem is intermittent so I might check the connection first. Does the switch just pop out of the dash? Failing that will get a new unit. Guessing I will need the whole unit with the headlight switch all in nt just the dimmer?

Yeah mate, gently prise the outer switch out of the dash which then leaves the headlight switch.
