Just dont use an open hose.

When i done mine i started the engine so it warmed up a little, got my Megs wheel brush sprayed on Autoglym engine and machine cleaner left it for a minute and scrubbed like hell with the brush.

Used a pressure washer to wash it all off. Didnt cover anything and i've done this a few times.

thanks phil, u sure none of the electrics need covering? just don't want to mess anything up, its a fairly high pressure washer ..

This happened to mine after i was cleaning my engine bay, i didnt jet wash it but cleaned it by hand with a brush and cloth. plugged it in at work and it came up the coolant sensor. cleaned the plug up and moved the wires around then cleared the code and its been fine since. maybe just a bit of damp in the plug. try that mate just incase its the same.

will be something thats really simple like any accessible plugs/senses etc... as know water would be able to get into the ECU and more than likely just dampened something somewhere!
