I need to top up my engine coolant as is a bit low, but not sure which one to get and where to get it from as i have no idea bout this sort of stuff!

what do other people use?? and where did you get it from?

Which engine do you have?

You'll probably find that the coolant fluid is VW-specific stuff, and you should not just buy whatever you fancy from Halfords. Mine, for example, is a PD130 and it takes "G12", which is a sort-of pink colour. I believe it never needs to be replaced. The handbook might tell you what you need.

i've got the 1.8T 20V cupra engine (petrol)

mine is a light shade of pink aswell, might be the same stuff?

You can get it from GSF too
It comes in blue (G11) which requires replacing every 3 years
Then it comes in pink (G12) that lasts 6 years
Word of warning , THEY DO NOT MIX
Then there is lilac (G12+) that is the same lasts 6 years and can be mixed with both of the pink and the blue
Hope that helps
Sarah

I just bought some of the G12+ coolant from Seat.

It comes in a 1.5litre bottle.

Part No : G012A8FM1

Cost : 7.68 inc VAT

g12 from seat cant use anything else and as awesome said DONT PUT PINK IN AFTER YOU HAVE DRAINED THE BLUE G11 as they react to eachother and is NOT GOOD!

jay you will defo need g12 matey

erm depends really was it the same colour? and what manufacturer was it

too be honest if i were you i would only ever use g12! as ive seen a car that has reacted very badley from mixing or emptyed and refilled with diffrent manufacturer!

same colour but not g12. and it was a very very small amount i added so id say its like 97% g12 3% random pink cr4p! had i known bout g12 i wouldnt have dared put anything other than that in. im just wondering if i should empty it now and fill with fresh g12?

id leaveit if allis well and there isnt a layer ontop in the resevoir as long as its all mixed evenly and no faultsjust leave it :)
