Hey guys, does anyone know when and if we will get a new engine cover for the 2.0L engines?

I had mine fitted a few weeks ago, just asked the dealers and they ordered it in.
Is it the same as the previous one or is it a new redesigned one? Cause the reason they took it off in the first place was due to a recall.

My Formentor was registered in April and a new engine cover was fitted in August it should fit firmly in place and take a good pull at the fixings to remove it, some had the correct fixings missing in the cover moulding apparently.

Oh look. People getting engine covers. I’m guessing this doesn’t count for digesting headwear.

Those goalposts look heavy. Would you like a hand?

Very interesting, thanks for sharing.
Mine, from a vz310 2022 delivered September 2021, has the same number except it ends with a ”K” instead of the ”L ”. If this ain’t the replacement then I don’t know?
I read this thread before visiting the VAG garage yesterday and asked about the replacement but they had no idea. I will be back there in three weeks and ask again, or maybe better I will send an email to Cupra Sweden. Not that this is the most important part of the car but I rather have a cover than not. I still have my cover (not attached to the engine though), since the garage left it in the trunk after they registered it.
Edit: maybe I was too trigger happy 😃 , just read somewhere that the ”L” cover is for engines max 180KW (?) but I wrote to Cupra Sweden anyway, can’t hurt.

I confirm, mine is the 2.0 litre 190ps V2 version, so possibly is a different part to the more powerful versions.

Ordered one from my dealer with serial no. 06Q103925L, just like sven7's, matches my VZ 310, they had 3 in stock ( goes for 135 eur), don't know if they will put it under a recall, part's guys didn't mention anything like that to me, got to talk to the Cupra service manager who's on holidays till Monday, worst case to get a discount, which I get anyways being their customer.

If it fits and it’s the upgraded one then it should be for free. I won’t pay since it’s a design fault.
Will update with the Cupra Sweden response when they return.

Should be the upgraded one, can't think Cupra would still keep the old ones that themselves were saying were a fire risk and themselves were taking them off from factory, like mine which I received without.

No not a premium brand like CUPRA, would do such a thing, but a lot of their dealers are crap and full of useless twats that just might. My dealer (FIFE SEAT/Cupra) removed mine before delivery and said that when the fault was fixed I would get it replaced then. Still waiting.

Got to push them, I first checked if they have it in stock, I then ordered and got a msg abt an hour ago that its at the dealer and should make an appointment ! I wish this is in order to have it replaced for free but wouldn't bet a dime on it!
I will call them tomorrow to see what the appointment is all about, most probably its a standard text sent to whomever is waiting to pick up a part. Either way I will be getting the cover soon, most probably by next week as my schedule is tight and the dealer is not that close to me.

I also called my service agent and they do not have a clue on when replacements are going to be available (I am in Mexico), also I checked this option Fiber Carbon Engine Cover for a MK8, seems that it could be a fit, and honestly looks even better. Do you think it would fit?

One thing for sure, this will not catch fire even if it gets undone. However, this will provide minimal sound/heat insulation and being out of carbon fiber, thus inelastic material, I would be concerned of proper and rattle free fitment. First you have to make sure it fits and then see what people who got it are saying about it.

Did you had a reply yet? I would like to order a cover for my VZ310 aswell. Can choose between versions G, K and L.

Just spoke to my dealership, part number 06Q103925L is for vehicles after Jan 21 manufacture apparently. Mine is a Nov 20 and none currently listed for my VZ2 310
