Engine management - headlights? HID's?

The engine management light has been displayed for a while now,
I've tried plugging vag-com in but it won't interface with my car.

However...i fitted HID's last week, and obviously the management light was reset when i disconnected the battery to fit them...but i was expecting the engine management light to come back on after a short while but it hasn't come back on

So im now curious as to whether the engine management/or the fault logged on the system was anything to do with the headlights?

Is this even possible?

Or is this just coincidence?

probably just coincidence, probably had a fault logged from something else and was never reset.

Yeah battery disconnection has probably cleared the fault code.

Yeh i understand this, i disconnected the battery a few times in the past to reset the ECU but the fault always seem to remain in the system, as the engine management light always come back on after 2/3 days.

But since fitting the HID's the engine management hasn't come back on - not that im complaining!!!
I've done over 200 mile since fitting them, and it was over 7days ago.

Must be a co-incidence.

Nooooo im saying the opposite mate!

My engine management light has been on for a while, long before i fitted the HID's.

BUT...i fitted the HID's and the engine management light went OFF!

So im wondering if its possible to have any faults related to the original head lamps etc.
