Engine management light!!

Wonder if anyone could help.

After work the other day on my way home got in the car and started it and the engine management stayed on. Drove home fine no problems in starting or performance. And can still change the APR re-map via the cruise control.

Is there a way to cancel this to see it come up again? Just wondering if there is a way or do i have to get it pluged in at the garage to cancel it, asking for the reson mate of mine could on his Vectra GSI (I know... totaly diffirent cars) But he could even find out what sensor that went only by using a paper clip!

what you need old chap is vag-com or rather someone in your local area with it

with vag-com you can read and clear fault codes among other things, without fault codes it'll be difficult to diagnose any problem.
