Engine Management Light!!!

My engine managment light came on and the car feels sluggish when driving it!!

once i go past 3000 revs my engine sounds like its going to burst and wont go any faster...

ive bin told by a mechanic around my area that this could be me throthle body which could cost over 300 for the part.

im just wondring if this problem has happend to any 1 else?

You need to plug it into diagnostics 1st - it might be something as trivial as the clutch pedal switch is disconnected

cheers well sayin that when i do put my clutch down it does make a funny noise when engine is cold and also when the engine is cold when u rev hard you hear some rattling sounds from the engine but after 5 mins or so you wont be able to hear it but the car will still run slower than usual?

any ideas how much that will cost??

How old is your car? call out the seat assistance and they will do the diagnostics! it will probably be something small and easy to fix which they will passably do for you (AA) but it could be something more serious which will could get progressively worse with continued driving!
