Over the last few weeks I’ve started to hear a noise on my Leon Estate. It’s originating from the engine compartment, perhaps lower down, and is noticeable at low speeds on poor tarmac surfaces. Sounds like mechanical clunking as if a wrench had been left somewhere in the engine compartment to vibrate with each movement. It’s got louder as the weeks have gone on. Passengers can also hear it so it’s not me just being oversensitive. Have to admit I find it worrying in case it’s indicative of something serious.
Car was in for service yesterday and surprise surprise though they could hear it they said it was just road noise. It isnt. I didn’t have time to push it as needed the car back and am in the middle of a house move so will have to wait until I’ve moved to pursue it further.
I know it’s a long shot but does this ring a bell, so to speak, with anyone?
