engine mount broken

called the AA this morning due to huge grinding noise when pulling away, unable to change gear smoothly extreme vibration. Diagnosis - engine mount gone, the whole engine rock back and forth and moves about 20 degrees when reved lightly, been advised not to drive it. :cry: what cost am i looking at for fixing this? nothing can be done untill wednesday now

ns mount 60 quidisd from tps 1 hr labour. has air box and battery need removing
os mount 37 irrc from euro car parts, about 30-40mins tops
dog bone mount 25ish dealer.(uprated bush is roughly 40 qiud from awsome) 30 mins tops

if i drive the car in the state it is (until tomorrow) am i going to do damage?

if you drive your car your at risk at breaking the other two mounts cause they will be under more stress that designed for aint worth it mate

yeah :(

AA man couldnt see which one was broken, (not any that were in sight) he did say he had never seen an engine move so much from a broken mount.

well she's been in the garage and it was a loose bolt on the bottom mount :blink: no explanation to be found to how it was loose. anyway all fixed first thing this morning :D

There was a Skoda dealership selling genuine ones on eBay, got one for my Cupra for approx £30, even arrived in the original VAG packing, part No. And all.

Glad you got it sorted though
