Disclaimer - yes I did search first 
Just got my LCR in February, it got a service and MOT at the dealer I bought it from before I took delivery of the car. For the past 2 or 3 weeks I've noticed that the word "service" flashes constantly on the mileage display on the speedo when the electrics are on and for a couple of moments after I start the engine.
Yesterday was driving about town and noticed that the amber engine light (middle row, far right hand side of the light cluster) had come on. There was no beep tho. Looking at the dashboard quick reference card thing for the lights said that was "Check Engine/Excessive Pollution" or similar, there was an asterisk beside that though and at the bottom of the page by the asterisk it said something about service intervals.
This would seem to me to suggest that the warning light has come on because I haven't done anything about the service indicator in the odometer yet, is this what's supposed to happen? I don't have VAG-COM and don't know of anyone in Aberdeen area with it yet, am hoping I can go to the dealer I bought the car from and get them to reset the service interval thing and see if that makes the light go away, has this happened to anyone else?
