these are the codes that came up...called AA as the car didnt drive
he plugged it in and came up with theses...
throttle sensor to high, sensor on pedal and somthing to do with the o2 sensors

P2133
P2128
P0223
P0038

All this from putting a turbo back system on seems abit odd :confused:

Put a new o2 sensor on and TC light has gone off and I've cleaned throttle body...EPC light is still on d just got a accelerator pedal from a breaker its of a 2002 golf so I hope it works...fingers crossed

Tried the pedal wasn't that so I'm guessing its throttle body sensor then :/

Anyone got a throttle body I can test?

You have fried the ECU,
Whilst removing the rear Lambda sensor you have either damaged or pulled the wires on the sensor which has caused a short, The Lambda sensor's earth directly into the ECU which shares the same ground points
as the pedal,

The only fix is to have a replacement ECU coded in or get yours fixed.

Got it in one. It happened to me, lambda sensor wires were hanging down, frayed and shorted the ecu. Check out ecu doctor, they repaired mine and I can't recommend them enough, their customer service is second to none. They have a really quick turnaround too so you could be back on the road in a few days.
I sent my ecu from my mk1 Cupra to them, I sent it on a Monday and had it back on Thursday, they repaired it for £200. They charge £35 to test it and they state on their website that if they can't test and repair it they will send it back free of charge, if they test it and it is repairable, they don't charge for the test fee

Hi Rob,
I think it may have been you that Pm'd me on here a while back with the same issue
and I mentioned to you that it would have been the ECU,

Glad you got your's sorted.

Yep, it was me. Yeah I got it sorted after three weeks off the road but I lost faith in it. I occassionally drive to Ireland and didn't fancy something like that happening over there, I had it for four and a half years and decided it was time for a new car. I bought a 59 plate mk2 Cupra in Candy White.:D

i got the exhaust fitted for a repateable company that do this day in day out...dose that mean they are liable??

is that 100% the ecu is fried?

will buying a ecu from a breaker do the job and how hard isit to code it to the car?

soon as they started the car there was christmas lights on dash and had to be pushed off the ramp as the go fast pedal didnt work and car was towed by AA from garage

There is a way to get the pedal working by running a direct ground from one of the pins on the pedal switch, Its not ideal and doesn't fix the ECU,
I'm sure the Lambda wont be working correctly either as the Grounds are fried.

Then they are liable, They have caused the issue by tampering with the Lambda sensor whilst the battery was still connected.
I would ask to see the old sensor and check the wiring, I reckon they have unscrewed it from the exhaust whilst the sensor was still plugged in and twisted the wiring causing a short.

Was it KwikShit by any chance?

Ive got the old sensor and all the wires are naked!!!

no mate wasnt kwikShit it a company the makes custom exhausts etc...ive had exhaust and other work done from them a few years ago on my first leon cupra and they did a top job...

how hard is it to code the ecu to the car?

BoostHard thank you for your help much appriciated, R@B thanks for the ecu doc will give them a shout
think i'll get intouch with the company that fitted the exhaust system tomorrow
