is the car under warrenty? if not you are looking at about £1200 unless you have full seat service history they might waive some/most of the fee. i have a raw deal claim in at the minute because seat refused to lower the cost of mine because it had not been serviced by seat before i owned the car.

FWIW - I refused to pay anything, threatened legal action against the dealership as this is a known issue and was inherently faulty at time of purchase, thus Sale of Goods Act says you have 6 years from time of purchase to make a claim

Never been serviced by a Seat Dealership as I made clear the part would have failed whether it had been serviced there or now so that was immaterial.

Remember Seat are already insured for this occurring as they will no doubt be billing the ODM partner for all the faulty modules, so they are earning money from you and money from the insurance pay out...:wtf:

Seat paid covered all costs. Didn't cost me a bean. Seriously, don't stand for this s*** as quite frankly its outrageous!

dealers rang to tell me repair can be done on jan 6th ,asked how much i would have to contribute and was told nothing .:)Seat sometimes get a bad deal on here but ths time can't fault them. And it certainly proves having a manufacturers service history counts.

Hi all,

My wife's Leon seems to have developed this ABS fault, i.e. ESP light on/won't go off. It's not gone into the dealers yet and she got an extended warranty at the time of purchase which would appear to cover it.

What I was however wondering is, if it is this issue, and the ABS pump is replaced, have VAG/SEAT addressed the underlying issue to prevent it happening in future or should we continue taking out extended warranties just on case!? :)

yes, the newer pumps i.e ATE mk60 ABS/ESP/TCS do not suffer with the dreaded -{G201-BRAKE PRESSURE SENSOR}- fault however the fault is still effecting cars right up to my2008.

VW UK have also now realsesed a rebuild kit which will be available to dealers and give them the capeability to repair the abs pumps in-house but you can only use one per car.

Yesterday my 57 leon FR TFSI got the dreaded ESP light on fault.[:@]:wtf:

I've read alot of great info on this common fault on seatcupra.net.

I've booked my motor into local independent garage for wednesday.

I want to ask the question if driving with this fault will cause more damage to the ABS pump module?

cheers

I was sure it was 6 months from the date of purchase.
