Hello,
Im looking at changing my current daily to a mk3 leon, the local dealer has a 2016 1.6TDi for an affordable price, but my friend has a 2011 1.6TDi Fabia Monte Carlo and she has had a lot of issues concerning her EGR nd also an injector. do the mk3 leons with the 1.6tdi engine suffer the same faults? what changes were made from euro5 to euro6?
would the 2.0TDI be a better more reliable option?

What sort of driving does she do? Most of the issues with diesels seem to be from the way they are driven.

I have had my 184 for just over 2 years now and put almost 35k on it doing 50ish miles a day on motorways and A roads and have never had any issues.

Hi Shaady,
She does 10-12k a year maybe more. but since she had an update from the dealers she has had an injector and 2 EGR replacements. Were the changes from euro5 to euro6 making these engines better and more reliable? i viewed the Leon yesterday and loved it. and they now have the 2.0 TDI 150 and 184ps versions in now.
My journeys are about 25 miles a day and a 200 mile trip every 2 weeks. so would the smaller diesel ( 1.6 110ps or 2.0Tdi 150ps) be ok for this or should i look at the 1.4 TSI instead?
