June 2021 Standard Mib2 navigation files are now available. Rest of the World is still pending. These links can be found on the navigation thread and resource indexed from it - top left tab under overview is the resource section. It's imperative that you take a copy of your card before deleting the contents and follow the workaround as detailed in the resource section if you haven't done it before.

See post 2047

Note. Mib2 High / Seat Plus release for Seat is still pending, VW / Skoda links do not function with Seat due to the part number being left out of the build. Hopefully that may change else those with Mapcare in Europe will be very unhappy. There is a technical solution for that but not for the faint hearted. Discussed further down on the link. Remains to be seen whether Seat is building it's own map update rather than joining lots with the two other brands or they made a technical error in the build. An admin error 😂 or they have pulled the rug on mib2 high navigation updates via Mapcare.

The mib2 high unit has the maps built in on the SSD whilst the standard reads them in off a map card as it uses them. If you pop the SD slots and find a map SD card in it it's a standard. All of the Seat Mib2 standard maps shows 6P.... as the part number. The high units are more powerfull units better executed.

I seem to recall you have a Seat Cupra Ateca pre facelift which is a mib2 high (Seat call it a Seat Plus)... They all were sold in the UK with the mib2 high / Plus unit, top of the line. It was an option on other Seats but got pulled as they reduced the lineup.

Think we had a conversation on navigation FeCs for the high unit. On the mib2 high unit you can't upgrade the maps without the navigation FeCs allowing it, they are read in off an SD card into the SSD of the unit. Think I gave you details of the board's retrofitter to sort it out. Where we are at the minute is waiting for Seat to include the part number in the download which is uploaded to the unit. There will be a lot of un happy Seat / Cupra bunnies in Europe who paid for Mapcare if they have pulled the rug. Wait and see at the minute. The upload is sufficiently tied down to stop user fiddling of adding the part number yourself.... although tempting to think that's all that is required. Sla1 signed signature protects it.

For standard navigation which is what the thread is about all is good.

Ps

Mib2 standard runs TomTom cartography

Mib2 High and Mib3 run Here Maps cartography

Thanks for the info (possibly for the second time!). I’ll investigate the SD slots, just to confirm.

ETA, no cards in the SD slots, as you said.
