Exhaust Bracket Snapped (MOT?)

Was doing a wee self-pre-MOT inspection on the Ibiza the other day. Noticed there was a bracket snapped on the exhaust:

Is this an MOT fail? I'm sure it can be welded for sake of the MOT. Then a good excuse for a new one afterwards

Anyone know if it will affect the MOT? It's meant to be at the weekend.

as long as the exhaust is secure and not blowing it should be ok, i have sent loads of cars/vans with snappes brackets and they havnt failed yet

I think it depends mate, it happened to me a few times but I was pretty friendly with the tester so he just welded it up but he said normally it wouldn't have passed.

if it fails you are very un lucky i just got this out the mot testers manual

1. Examine the condition of the whole exhaust system, including the silencers and mountings, for security, deterioration and completeness

Note: The overall security of the exhaust system should be assessed; one or more exhaust mountings missing may not be a Reason for Rejection

im a tester and thats not an mot fail. as mentioned above the security of the system is not affected therfore its pass and advise. my lcr had the same problem so welded it back on

Cool. I won't reschedule the MOT, if they pick up on it I'll get it welded up for the time being. It's definately not blowing and the exhaust is pretty secure (maybe the cause of it hanging a touch low?)
