Exhaust hanging quite low

Hi, looking at other owners pics on here my exhaust(LCR) seems to hang pretty low. I can easily get my hand in to wash the hole top of the tip - is anyone elses like this or is it close to the bumper cut out? Im guessing the bushes might be past there best but just interested if its normal or not before i visit a TPS dealer to try some replacements?

I can just about get my index finger between then tailpipe and the bottom of the bumper.

High my cupra R exhaust hangs a bit low as well but when i look the backbox is at its highest so therefore i think thats the way there meant to be but im not 100%.

Thanks for the replies, i can get 3 chuibby figers in so think its dropped a bit but it has done 60k so i guess its worth trying a new exhaust rubber

Put a couple of big cable tie's around the rubber, a new one will only drop again.

either that or a jubilee clip. but, neither of those are permanent solutions. an exhaust U clamp around the rubber mounting will stop the backbox hanging too low and also stop the backbox hitting any rear ARB that might be fitted.

Are you sure the hanger bracket that is situated just before the back box has not corroded off.

This is the most common cause of the exhaust hanging low - I just welded mine back on!

Thet only seem to last three years

maybe the clearance is enough to not effect the paintwork on the bumper - if it aint broke dont fix it!

Theres no paint around its just the plastic add in on the cupra R, it looks odd so im getting under it soon just holding it off as those damn jacking point covers are a pain in the arse to get back in sometimes.

This is a common fault, mine was exactly the same when I first bought it. Had it welded back on for beer money, took longer to put the car onto the lift than it took to do the job.

ive noticed this on mine too, it hangs low i can easliy wash the tail pipe mines only a few year old only got 32000 on the clock.
think ill jack it up and have a look.
