For all day long pops and bangs a full turbo back decat exhaust an anti-lag system should do it.
A cat back exhaust like mine does give the odd pop though of you don't want your car sounding like a night in Afganistan.

sounds awesome on full chat but does get a bit annoying on long runs at 70mph

mine only pops when on full throttle over 4k rpm when the tcs cut in and I close the throttle. 2 out of 3 times it pops then. Love it

on the evo's if you add some negative timing on the over run that gives pops and bangs and flames, not sure if you can do this on the 1.8t

3" DP 120cell race cat stock LCR pipes to the end. Sims turbo muffler and an oval 4x6 inch
Powerflow turbo back system with de-cat (no boxes untill the tiny back box) that pops and bangs alot with the odd flame lick
alternatively fit a rev limiter and set it to 6 k and floor it... works for me also
