So here's the timeline for the help of others
4 July Vehicle ordered (remember August factory shutdown)
16 September Vehicle manufactured and advised on 17th Sept by Dealer will take 2-4 weeks to arrive
2nd October at the port (might have been earlier as I chased dealer on 1st Oct) and will take a week or so to arrive at the dealer.
4th October Called to dealers to sign papers and get 7 days free insurance. Also signed for 4 years SEAT service plan for £11.45 (not £11.04 as quoted)pcm. Now that's a good deal as year 4 service is an expensive one. I really believe that folks should consider this unless it's a companycar
10th October Collect Car from dealership.]

La Surprise docked at the Port of Tyne this morning and hopefully my car is on board as I had been told it was on a ship on it's way here on Wednesday. Hopefully it wont take too long to get from the Port to Newcastle!!

Could be worse Jamie, mine docked in Port of Tyne as well but was then trailered to Harrogate where the dealers is and then driven back up to Newcastle to me.

All seems a bit stupid really and a waste of fuel but the dealer the company uses is in Harrogate.

Hopefully that wont happen to me...

Mine told me last week that my car was on a boat but then when I rang for an update this week they told me that actually it had only been allocated to a boat last week and was now on it's way.

So near, yet so far!!

Evans Halshaw in Harrogate, only went through that one because it's what my company uses to order the company cars. Just seems daft that SEAT scotswood road couldn't have prepped the car instead of going South then back up north.

Thanks Bubbs & Dephead for the timeline information, very useful indeed.

Hi Guys, can I ask when you placed your orders please so I can try and work out the approx lead time before I get alloted a build week, not that I am getting impatient or anything! Lol

Ordered 7th September.

As its got a lot of options including the sunroof, was told initially 10+ weeks was estimate.

Had confirmed this week that build is scheduled for Week 45 commencing 4th Nov.

Dealer expects the car to be with him before the end of the month, but could be early December before i take delivery.

I've not had much in the way of updates from the dealer unless I rang them but have the following information for my timeline:

Ordered - 31st August with a proposed delivery of end of October
Car "in production" according to the dealer on 23rd September
Car allocated to a ship on 16th October according to the dealer
Car on a ship on 23rd October 2013 according to the dealer
Likely actual delivery date of early November

If it's delivered next week that would make it about 9 weeks. I will be able to confirm once it's actually here...

Dealer has been utterly useless with regards information. We hed to phone the lease company today to chase it. They did and came back with the car is at the dealer!!(The dealer never told us:think:) and have now arranged to swap my car over next Friday. Yeah:D

Thanks for the information, the sunroof does add quite a few weeks to the build time but it looks really good though so will be worth the wait! :)

Thanks for the info mate, so from the looks of things the general lead time is around 9 weeks. I have just ordered some OEM Golf MK7 GTI Pedal caps to put in the new car, found the details of the pedal caps in another thread. Hope it doesn't turn out to be an expensive wait

Just spoken to my dealers, my week 40 build car turned up at 3 this afternoon so I'm picking it up 2 o clock on Monday Excited like a child and strange as I fogged my fully specked golf 6 r to buy the leon

Mine was ordered 18th August and was always promised "end of October". Arrived at dealers last Friday and I saw her/sat in her last Saturday. Picking her up at 11am . Dealer has been prepping all week but more to do with transferring PCP agreement. Also changing mk 6 GT 1.4 61 plate for the 1.8 TSI FR manual. Mk 7 did not do much for me so time for a change and save £90 a month for a better spec and same mechanicals and better looking. Oh yes and a new colour and thats why I am excited!!:)

Another week to go till I get the Delivery of my Leon SC 184 PS! Could have got it on the Thursday but away for a long weekend to the Cairngorms. The whole plan was to get the car in time for the drive up the mountains but got messed up by a day!

Hoping mine came into the country on friday so I'm hoping for some news this week :)

As I am now the proud owner of a new Leon I will say "au revoir" to this thread!! But It will be worth the wait is what I CAN say!! Hope that when you get "them" they will be all that you wanted and more!! Mine certainly is!! Hang in there chaps!! :)

Morning all,
Ordered my New Leon last week - is there a standard delivery window that they expect to meet? The dealer has told me 8 weeks. Any insight would be awesome!

Thanks

The dealer still doesn't have the slightest idea where my car eventually is... This is just ridiculous. I can track some iPhone cables sent from china sellers in eBay with free postage and not a car sent from one EU country to another :( I should have bought an Alfa Romeo Giilietta two months ago. It was in stock and could have picked it up the same day. It felt great on the test drive, looks more sexy than the Leon. And reding all the rants about rattles with the new Leons seems the infamous build quality of the Alfa wouldn't be worse than the SEAT.

Sorry for the rant, it's do depressing to wait :)

Have you tried ringing SEAT CS? lots of people reporting getting results from them when the dealers we're clueless.
