It's a cracking motor though I well happy with ours.
It's in tomorrow for a full detail and gtechniq crystal serum to help protect
this black paint.
Had an odd one though we have no headlight washer jets on ours
And yet we have the winter pack. The heated seats are there, dealer told us they are taking them away now as there only required for xenons.
Seemed like he was blagging me. Any thoughts?
You order winter pack? If so, it sounds like you only got part of it. If on the other hand you didn't order winter pack but ended up with heated seats the that's a bonus, surely?

Definitely ordered it but strange I only got half.
Wouldn't say I was overly bothered just wondered if anyone had the same.

Mine has headlamp washers.

Think there are some new rules about them whereby if the headlight puts out over a certain amount of lumens (2000 rings a bell...) then washers have to be present, but below that the manufacturer can save some dosh. That's why the LED headlights on the Leon aren't very bright compared to xenons. Some manufacturers are also fitting 25W xenons that fit the same bracket as the lower power LEDs we have. Something like an Audi A6 with LEDs will still need washers coz they're much brighter than the Leon or A3's.

What is estimated time between factory build and dealer delivery?

Ordered mine (184 ST FR) on 20th May and it was put on a boat last Saturday (28th June) and was supposed to arrive this week but have not checked yet. Going on hols anyway so wont be picking up until towards the end of this month.
Quite quick compared to some as I was initally told 12 weeks. In the end it was put together on build week 26.
Guess the time factor is to do with the amount / type of extras added. I Just got the tech pack which is free anyway at the moment, convenience pack, 18" alloys, LED interior pack and sound system incl spare wheel.

Looking bright and actually being bright aren't the same. If you parked next to a higher end Merc/BMW/Audi etc with their properly bright LED headlamps you'd definitely see a difference. Same with the 25W xenons I mentioned in comparison with the more usual 35W ones. I think MINI do a xenon retrofit kit now that uses these 25 watters, as you can fit them without the need for the washers.

This is the info you were thinking of, courtesy of the AA.

Headlight requirements are updated to take account of the particular characteristics of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps.

HID headlights can cause dazzle if they are dirty or aimed too high, so they are generally (if light output exceeds 2000 lumens) fitted in conjunction with headlamp cleaning and levelling systems. Where HID or LED dipped beam headlamps are fitted the tester will switch on the headlamps and check the operation of any headlamp levelling and cleaning devices fitted.

The car will fail if a headlamp levelling or cleaning device is inoperative or otherwise obviously defective.

End of quote.

However, the key words 'generally are fitted', there is no requirement to fit washers or levellers, although I hate after market HID's without levellers. If you have them they must work.

So with the Leon, the washers appear to have nothing to do with the headlamps, otherwise they would form part of the LED headlight pack. They are there as a winter option for cleaning your headlights in those lovely wet and dirty driving conditions.

So it looks like only half a winter pack was supplied.

Mine came yest and I also had the Australian mirror when reversing, but I did the set up again and now it works perfect. Also I can stop with the start/stop cutting the motor and then put in P, put on handbrake and take foot off brake, and it DON,T start again if on a flat surface. But as my drive is on a slight slope it does come on again, so that might be why some are not getting it to work. Have put some pics in readers rides today.:D:D:D:D:D

I ordered mine first week of June, just had my build week confirmed as week 31 (last week of July) and am looking at a first week of September collection from the dealer - mainly to get the new 64 plate. That's for a FR ST 150PS with most of the options.
