Mate its amazing! From what little I've driven it. Only done 12 miles so far as spent the last two days detailing it. Finally finished now but can't drive it yet as the sealant I've put on the leather takes 24 hrs to cure properly. Going on a road trip tomorrow to start running it in a bit and will take some pics to upload. Here's a cheeky one of the side skirts though as a teaser.
Lovely moonhead! Enjoy it fella, a long old wait but your car looks stunning.

Wow now I've seen them side by side, the side the skirts really make a difference. Almost makes their extortionate price tag worth it, glad I've gone for them.

I hope it is just the angle that the picture has been taken from, as I fancied the side skirts but looking at the two cars above I prefer the one without them.
But I must compliment you on your detailing Moonhead, that is outstanding
Although the side skirts look nice its going to be nice not having to worry about them jacking covers coming off or being robbed like the last one I had.

Even though my photo was taken on an overcast day you can definitely see the difference between 2 days cleaning and 2 hours! Just wish I had the patience to get those sort of results...
I bet there are still loads of people jealous of your car though mate..........
Thanks for the compliments guys. Road trip planned today so will try and get some better pictures to show off the reflections in the paintwork. May even be able to get some nice scenery in the background too although with it being a sunny Sunday I think all my favourite spots will be packed out. Bit of an OCD freak when it comes to this kind of thing which is why I wouldn't let the dealers valeter do it. My neighbours all think I'm mad, spending so long out polishing my cars with so many different products, but I find it quite relaxing and really love to see the results when you drive past a shop window and see the car gleaming back at you.
I'm an OCD freak too. I did let the dealer clean the car though as it is difficult to properly check the paint when it isn't clean. When you are buying 250 miles from home it's important to be completely satisfied before driving it away. I knew the dealer "valeter" would probably inflict some swirl damage but also knew I could correct it myself easily enough with my DA. The only swirls I could find were on the gloss black plastic parts and they corrected with one pass.
I've got some swirls too on the gloss black part of the passenger door. Haven't got rid of them yet though. What did you use? Always a little wary when it comes to doing gloss black on plastic. I've got a DAS 6 pro with hex-logic pads ranging from orange to red. Used to use Megs Ultimate Compound on my Scirocco which always left a good finish.
I used a DAS6-Pro, white hex-logic with M105 then black pad with M205. Actually did the whole car with back pad / M205 after ironx and clay session. Paint on ours is actually very good, unlike our white Mk2 which was very swirly from new. I cleaned my dads white alfa for him yesterday (he's getting old) first wash since he's had it and it is swirled to buggery. He had the crystalcoat (or whatever alfa call it) applied on delivery and I suspect the swirls were inflicted by the muppet who applied that. White cars are pretty bad for showing swirls in sunlight though.
Think I'll try some of the megs Ultimate compound with a White/Green Hex-Logic and see how it turns out. I was very impressed by the paintwork on mine to be honest, hardly a mark on it and really good finish too. Clayed it prior to waxing but don't think it needed it as the paintwork was already silky smooth and the clay was still spotless when I'd finished. I take it your on Detailing World too then? What other products have you used?
I didn't get them because, without the covers being nicked or falling off, they just don't go back on right, and have gaps around and just look bad. Had them on two previous SEATs, also I don't think they are worth the cost as they hardly get noticed when the car is on the road.

Was supposed to be picking mine up tomorrow but I phoned the dealer today to check everything was ok and was told the car is not ready as the body shop have only just finished painting and fitting them today, and doesn't recommend driving it tomorrow until the bond has had at least 24 hours to cure. Keeping in mind they have had the car all week and they've only just done it has not made me too happy, official excuse is the side skirts were delivered with the wrong brackets so they had to reorder the correct ones.
Sounds like a similar issue that Moonhead had with his. Looks like I'm picking monday instead, just hoping for good weather.

I can forgive a little delay for hiccups like that, I'd be annoyed they didn't call me to tell me off their own initiative though.
