FAO: Anyone with spacers on a non Cupra

tried fitting my 15mm eibach pro spacers today but came across a major problem!

the standard wheel bolts were 25mm long, and the long bolts i got are 50mm (should be the same as what the cupra guys use with spacers?)

BUT the cupra has rear discs, and my sport has rear drums.... and when i tightened the bolts up, my handbrake jammed on!

so i'm guessing the bolts are too long! i'm thinking i would be better off with 40mm bolts.... just wondering what bolts any of you guys with spacers on non-cupra mk3's used?

When I enquired about spacers from Bill he said that the length of the bolts could be a problem, so I didn't bother with them at the time because of all the hassle. If you find out the length of bolts that fit could you let me now?

that's ok mate, yeh will let you know what happens

i cant see that there would be a problem using M12x1.5x40mm bolts because the original bolts are 25mm and the spacers are 15mm (25 + 15 = 40 !!)

i'll have a chat with bill and sort it out

ps. anyone thinking of buying bolts/spacers from bill, this problem isnt any fault of bills. just a breakdown in communication between us i think! bill didnt have the bolts in stock and he STILL got them to me in about 3 days!! top bloke!

is there anyone out there that has got spacers on a non cupra?

not sure if commiemidget had some spacers on his 1.4....

I wish I had known yours was not rear disked... as you say 50mm long on drums catches on internals... woops.
40mm is what you need or hacksaw 10mm off what you have if you want to DIY it.

40mm jobbies are available.

just cant wait to get my spacers on! it looked so much better with them on, and i was gutted to have to take them off again!
