Just unplug the MAF and go for a drive , if it pulls better then you need a new MAF if it is horrible and feels worse then it is likely to be something else, I am having issues with my LCR too and it is getting to be a real joke now seeing as I have only had it 2 months!

sounds to me like its the maf or boost leak.

Can you hear a hissing noise from anywhere in the engine (other than the turbo?). When I popped a hose I lost most of the power and could hear air escaping. If you can't hear any leaks, I'd look at the MAF. The N249 Bypass won't through that code up, that'll show a 17608 and another one I can't remember, but not the one you mention (they both relate to solenoid and open circuits. I.e the N249 solenoid) :)

Just also thought, as mentioned ooop there ^^^ could be a leaking DV, but you'd hear that hissing too I think

as said by russler i unplugged the MAF plug and wow what a power  so im guessing its that as well as the low g/s im getting , instead of it being faulty may it need cleaned ? after fitting the jetex cone? , or should i just order a new one?

in reply to APE , nope no 'unusual' hissing noises , im guessing i would hear them from just revving it up with the bonnet open? , but i also didnt heard anything when i drove it, as well the n249 it did still have the chunky block in , but ive just put in the resistor that IE sell and its not throwing up any codes

cheers for all the help guys , pretty sure its the MAF , would haveing a faulty MAF decrease power? since im only seeing 190 bhp ? i know that when i did remove the plug it pulled so much nicer but would having a faulty one decrease bhp?

a dead maf will cause boost leak error code (17705) the car doesnt know how much air is going in the engine, so fueling will be off also. power will be way down, boost wont be consistent. im 90% sure its the maf, buy a new one and buy oem (bosch) cheap ones dont work as i found out myself.

New MAF working a treat , thanks everyone for the input and help!

First Test Run after fitting saw peak g/s of 213 = 266 BHP ?? nuts considering cars not mapped

then after couple days did some BHP read-outs and was getting 255-258 so pretty chuffed still :)

Much better than my 202 g/s :( and mine's around Stage 2!
I think I have a dead / faulty / dirty MAF.

ooo , yeh must be something up , unless my car is mapped? (there a way to check this haha?)

better get it checked out :p , buy my calcs you should be near 230 g/s?

I got the same error code. I have unclipped the maf but runs no differently. I have had a look for split pipes but cannot find any splits ? I have also replaced my forge 007p for the new forge dv. Any other suggestions ?
