fault codes

help need advice on some fault codes on my seat leon cupra r

fault codes are 17704/p1296 and 17705/p1297. car feels slow,also sometimes when u start it up it idles at 3000rpm.any 1 got any ideas thanks

17704 thats the temp sensor or stat gone or may be both. also check for a air lock. 17705 is a boost leak between throttle and dump valve. check your dump valve and check for split hoses.

thanks mate,willl have a look later.might change dump valve anyway as still standard 1 on it and car has had stage 2 remap so may bennefit better dump valve. where is the most likely place 2 find split hoses? thanks again

I'd say its the actual valve failing if its standard on a stage 2.

just tried looking for split hoses,but dont know where 2 start looking. Anyone got any idea which are the most common hoses 2 split. THANKS

not yet mate,just thought i would try eliminating hoses first,before spending out on dump valve

You really need an uprated valve on a stage2, for all you know the boost leak could actually be the valve as they quite often fail.

cheers mate,will get 1 next week and let u know if it sorts the problem. also still got standard TIP could this be causing problems with stage 2?

what modds you got to run a stage to? cos alot of this should have been changed before the stand tip is pants it fails at 5000 rpm and you really need to upgrade these asap

As Wayne said you shouldn't really have stage2 without the supporting mods.

Who mapped it without them?

I bought the car off my mate.He had done remap but left everything else standard! it was pushing 286bhp when i bought it,doesnt feel anywhere near that now though
