Fault Found!

Found this fault today after an auto scan;

Address 08 -------------------------------------------------------
Controller: 1M0 820 043 E
Note: Excessive Comm Errors

This refers to the Climatronic which is working perfectly, could it be anything
to do with using an aftermarket HU?

more likely the cable interface mate,i had that all the time when i had me ebay cable,when i got the proper one no more excess comms errors like that.

Mmm, I suppose so. If this is the case it's the first problem I've had with this cable. I want to get into using Vag-Com a bit more before I shell out for a proper cable though, I certainly don't use it enough to justify the £250.

Jonny, i originally had the ebay cable,but then bought the vag-com licence which cost £60,then after having trouble connecting every time(getting those excess comms errors) i decided to get the proper interface, the KEY II/USB type for me, this cost me £90 quid so was £180 all in mate with the shipping via fed-ex from the states,give or take a quid or two for exchange rate.I know plenty of lads have no trouble with their ebay cables,just mine got worse and worse and in the end just wouldn't connect so i bit the bullet.
