After three years or so of being a member of this forum I've finally done it! I've convinced my other half to sell our beloved focus st and but a 2007 leon fr!!
We picked it up just before our annual trip south to visit family and instantly loved the fuel economy!
The car is pretty well equipped and comes with the winter pack (based in Scotland, we'll need that soon enough!!!) and iPod connection. The only thing it lacks in compared to the st is sat nav. However I've seen a vag style sat nav on eBay for £300, might be a future purchase once the savings come in from the fuel bills.
The first thing I'm thinking about is refurbishing the wheels and then lowering the suspension. I've narrowed it down to the eibach springs with the standard dampers!
As usual I'll find all the info from this forum to help!
Cheers, Lee

Good Work,

Which FR did you go for? Petrol or Diesel...

When you have enough posts (15 I think) you will have to put up some pics :)

Plenty of Sat Navs to choose from if you look around the readers rides section I bet...

Have fun :)

Its going to be a TDI because he talks about fuel economy

Don't be silly my 2.0 is very eco friendly if it's left on the drive lol

Could be the 1.4 TSI Depending on how much more economical it is :) Unless they were not about in 2007 lol then i'll shut up...

Enjoy it!
i first looked at the PD170, loved it! but then, seeing as i did minimal miles a year, approx 4.5k i could justify the petrol.

Now ive had that remmapped too, i dont know where my next upgrade is going to be. Iv been looking at 335 E92 but a part of me says a stage 2+ Cupra R.

Good stuff, welcome aboard! What do you think of the build quality of the Leon compared to the Focus? A Focus was on my shortlist when I bought the Leon but I wasn't convinced that the Focus interior would still be looking good in a few years time...

Do it. Epic cars, and once remapped it'll be seriously fast, quicker than 99% of things out there.

There's a lot less knocks and rattles than the focus! Once I can post pics I'll get some up, the only thing I miss is the styling of the ford!!! It just looked so good after changing the wheels from silver to black!
