I really wish I'd noticed this thread before cleaning my wheels with a brush as they're now covered in fine scratches. The brush was brand new and a good quality one and not cheap, so I'm amazed that it's done so much damage.

I don't think I'd go for the Black Edition if I could rewind the clock, mainly for the wheel issue. I don't think they look amazingly better than the standard alloys and they're a pain to clean. The bucket seats are good, but again not a huge improvement over the standard ones.

I drive a fair amount of time on a motorway and have never felt the car 'twitchy'.

I do have to say, in conclusion, that I love every other aspect of the car. It's probably the best car I've ever driven in almost 48 years!

Had the car for almost a week now so figured I'd give my likes and dislikes!

I have an FR Titanium 184 in monsoon grey(66 plate)

Likes:
*Power! Not a cupra but the pull in all gears feels really good while cruising on the motorway keeps the car much more mellow
*colour- I think it looks awesome
*tech- having sat nav, dab, Apple car play, reversing sensors, cruise control etc is awesome
*hidden gems-I love the folding mirrors, think they're really smart, also the reversing passenger side mirror dipping is really cool
*storage-380 litre boot, centre console, door bins and glovebox are all very spacious and love the arm rest
*brakes-haven't looked into what exactly they are but they feel very sharp
*gearbox-also very sharp, still getting to grips with ratios having gone from petrol to diesel but it all feels tight
*auto lights are great
*engine sound-despite being a 'stinking diesel' the noise the engine makes when the turbo spins up through 2nd and 3rd is pretty nice, shows it's power if nothing else

Dislikes:
*seems a universal thing that the tyres aren't the best and I can already see why some say that, with it nearing winter it's getting damp and frosty in the morning and any kind of step on 2nd has the car bouncing and spinning which may be exciting and 'cool' but not so good on country roads etc
*auto wipers-maybe it's just me but figuring out how to get the auto wipers on seems an interesting task, would be nice to have something to show they're on sometimes I think they are then it doesn't wipe for ages so I press it again and repeat the cycle of confusion but this is probably me being silly!

On the whole I love the car, having gone from a turbo corsa it's great to have something that feels classy inside, looks amazing outside and has power throughout. Got 2 years with it so hoping all goes well!

Oh and the strobe lighting switch between white and red is cool, bit childish switching to sport mode and instantly feeling like you're in some menacing rocket but I'm 21 so I f*cking love it!

With the stalk in the default position the auto wipers should always be on, the little switch on the top adjusts the sensitivity (more sensitive the further right you push it).

Same colour as my 5-door, really suits the car. I can recommend some good LED bulbs for the rear indicators if you ever fancy changing them out, they look much more modern. :)

Great call about the wheels. My ST Cupra Black is a couple of weeks away and I was already planning on using my wheel brush. Mitt all the way now.

I think the auto wipers work when you put it on the intermittent setting :)

Skirts, agree!!
No doubt new Cupra will have as standard with numerous other toys.
Roll on 3 weeks when mine should be here..... not holding my breath though. Not signed anything and heard nothing since paying my £200 deposit.

Dislike on the fr probably same on all range..

Knocking you knee on the rake adjustment

you know what, I've had mine a week now and I would have gone on for a long time without noticing these had I not read your post :D

Cool. Glad the thread has helped.

I do have one massive dislike that has been mentioned before. Nowhere to keep your shades. Wife's kia has a drop down cubby hole above rear view mirror. Nowhere suitable in the Seat.

my ford had one by the rear view mirror, but i find the little cubby opposite the drivers right knee does the job ok?

Yes it does seem strange they didn't fit one.
Easily rectified though, just get the sunglasses holder from a Golf , and it simply fits where the grab handle would be if it was left hand drive leon :)

Sounds ominous
Still waiting for my Cupra 290 BE and I must say I liked the standard wheels better for that fact.... just also liked the look of Bucket seats and what all reviews said about them.
Are the seats that Good?
I'm also getting manual, plenty of popping back on high revs when coasting???

Popping after lift off is not very loud at all, mini cooper s is better for that, something i have found pretty disappointing :(

Bucket seats are decent, should have a bit more lumbar support but still nice and have got used to them quickly.

Only washed the wheels twice and as its a contract hire that will prob be the last as they are a pain, paying someone else to deal with seems the better option

Shame....
Do you need to be in Cupra mode to make it sound better?

Yeah it is better in cupra mode but still not as loud as hoped, and some of the sound is synthetic which i dont really agree with but wouldnt turn off now even if u could!

Is the little pull down drawer in between the light switch and steering wheel not for sunglasses?
That's where i keep mine anyway, even has the little ridge in the centre
