Hi ade109 / all

I've now had my car for 7 weeks - and STILL no service book or satnav dvd from Pentagon! In my case it's slightly more complex as I bought my car (brand new) via internet broker buyacar.co.uk. Pentagon were the supplying dealer (they delivered it on a truck so I didn't have to collect it). I've never heard of a dealership that didn't like people collecting cars on a Saturday, that sounds odd!

Pentagon also missed the fact that one of the windows on my car did not have the black tint, when they did the PDI. My local SEAT dealer were amazed that they'd missed it as it's one of the items on the PDI checklist (mind you - so is the satnav and the service book stamping, one would assume...).

According to buyacar.co.uk, Pentagon have posted my service book back to me 4 times now... yet it still miraculously gets "found" when I chase it. In other words - they have blatantly lied (I believe Pentagon are the problem, not buyacar.co.uk).

After many (20+) emails and calls to buyacar.co.uk, the last I heard (Friday) was that they are going to buy the satnav DVD direct from Navteq and bill it to Pentagon. If both items haven't arrived with me by 31st April I'm going to start legal proceedings against them as I've had enough.

I've also got SEAT UK involved - they are in the process of contacting Pentagon to find out what on earth is going on.

My parents are about to have a Leon delivered via buyacar.co.uk too - probably also supplied by Pentagon. They will be rejecting the car if anything at all is missing, based on my experience.

Absolutely loving the car though - definitely the best car I've owned, and so rare on the road. I can't believe how good the fuel economy is too - I've only filled up with diesel once so far! (admittedly I've only done 700 miles though)

Agree with you re. Pentagon though - beware! Easily the worst and most frustrating experience I've ever had with a dealer (and there have been quite a few over the years, including 4 previous SEATs, Mazda, Peugeot, Volvo, VW).

I must just add - the customer service I received from my local SEAT dealer, Crawley Down SEAT, was first class. They organised the replacement window on my car under warranty within a week, even collected and delivered my car. Very friendly and helpful service too - they even rang Pentagon on my behalf to chase up the satnav and service book... but got nowhere!

I'll keep you posted with what happens with my service book and satnav. Enjoy your Exeo!

Cheers,

Graham

I now have to send the service book back to have it stamped. Got a 40 mile round trip to get the key programmed. Apparently though they 'bent over backwards' to let me pick the car up on a Saturday, despite the fact that when I got there none of the salesmen were busy and they 'worked really hard on the price' to give £400 off. What amused me most though was that the salesman was interested in nothing more than me giving him a 100 per cent feed back. He must have said it half a dozen times. I think I will probably write to Seat UK.

Hi ade109

Before you send the service book off - take a photocopy / scan of the inside cover (where the information sticker is), and also any pages that are filled in. It might be the last you ever see of it - and it should make it easier to get a replacement one from another SEAT dealer should you need to.

I would also send it back to them recorded or Special Delivery, so they can't deny knowledge of receiving it!

Definitely write to SEAT UK. I will be writing a formal letter of complaint to SEAT UK and also buyacar.co.uk once I've received the service book and satnav DVD, as this level of 'customer service' is very poor. That is if I don't have to take legal action against them first to get them to supply the parts I have, after all, paid for!

Out of interest - what model Exeo did you buy?

- and I take it you didn't give the salesman 100% feedback?!

Cheers,

Graham

Graham,

I will do as you suggest thanks.

Haven't filled the survey in yet as I am waiting till I have everything I want out of them and will then leave feedback. It's not going to make pretty reading!

I have a Candy White Sport Tech ST 143. It has the Xenons etc.

Rgds,

Ade
