Hi AJ
Your very welcome mate. There are a huge number of options when it comes to detailing your car with prices for some carnuba based waxes in the thousands. I probably have a couple of dozen different waxes and sealents, and I use what takes my fancy at the time or perhaps a specific wax or sealent to help hide the light swirls on my girlfriends Ibiza. If it were me and your new to detailing I would go for the super resin polish, it's easy to apply and the new formula doesn't produce much dust, try to avoid getting it on plastic trim if you can.
Make sure the panel is squeaky clean and if you can apply out of direct Sun.
Apply no more than a 10p size amount to a wing and adjust up or down dependent on panel size.
Use a soft applicator, Meguiars yellow foam pads are my choice sold in halfords.
Massage in really well, do one panel at a time.
Once is appears dry, swipe your finger over the panel if the paint is clear it's ready to remove
Remove and the move onto the next panel, you can apply more than once to a panel if you like, it won't so much add an extra layer but will provide uniform coverage.
Once the whole car is done you can consider Extra gloss protection or a wax, bit it isn't essential the super resin polish looks good and provides protection on its own, it also removes a light imperfections.

I think it will looks fantastic with the SEP.

Looks lovely AJ, very nice color there :)

I am thinking about mud flaps as well.
I don't actually want them, but on a wet day and a clean car, front wheels throw all the dirt down the side of the car and rear gets mucky quickly as well.

I wash the car often enough but would be nice if it stayed clean for a few days after washing it

That's a great looking car! And I really love the pedals.
The good news is that I have ordered the same spec car as you have. :)
The bad news is that I am still waiting for it to arrive and to take delivery of it. :(

Good to see finishing tips, I'm probably in the minority of people on here whose idea of finishing the car is to wash, rinse and chamois dry it.
With previous cars I always start out with good intentions of regular washing, polishing etc and then the will dies off after a few months and I end up at the petrol station with the Polish Boys cleaning it for me. With this car it will be different...

AJ when I looked at the list of your mods done I noticed you mentioned "Door Lock Protective Cover Kit". I tried searching for a thread but couldn't find anything, would you mind putting up a link for us please.

Thanks Rob for your tips, again appreciate the info you have given :)

Cheers Sixysix, yep I think the mud flaps will certainly help the car stay clean after you wash it :)

320i, great choice in car and spec mate! ;) Mine took 12 weeks from order to pick up and I certainly know how you're feeling right now, but the wait will be worth it. Just try not to think about it too much lol

Andy, cheers for giving Chris the link. It was indeed from a thread which TerryT started, here is the thread if you're interested in having a read:

Superb, thanks Andy and AJ. Might invest in some of them covers.
Lets see if they arrive before the car too...

hehe, will be a close one I reckon as these parts are shipped from China ;)
