when was the last time you had a first year service? there all very expensive for what you get and you get Cr4p oil etc! my clio and ford wernt that much cheaper than this and they were 1.3's and a 1.5t so £150 for a beast like this sound fair to me, you can how ever get it done cheaper!

you should get mobil 1 oil which is very dear. i know i did.

Mobil 1 is very good and very expensive, VAG's own fully synthetic SynthaGold is half the price and is excellent. I know some of the 350bhp IHI monsters are running with it ok so it should be ok in an LCR ;) .

£118.62 for my first one just dug out the invoice but i wouldnt recomend them, a poor dealer in warrington..oops.
Got my second next week 19K £161.77 all in at Hobbins in Preston will see how they perform

85 quid, and 122 including supply, paint and fit a jack point cover...
150 is scandalous! dont go near them! phone round, sureley if you can get it done for less than a ton its worth driving a few miles.

Snythetic oil

My CR is only 3 weeks old (today!) and I haven't added any oil yet. I've got some Audi synthetic oil that I never opened from the Ausi S3 225 that I used to own, I presume it's the same grade, etc in this engine?!

The LCR can run with Semi or Fully synthetic both are approved, depends what your dealer put in. IIRC you can top Semi up with Fully synthetic but not the other way round.

Glad to see seat are more friendly than Ford as i took my own oild and filters down but they refused t use them as it wasnt there own brand (which was twice the price for cheap crap) i ended up saying sod it becuse i wanted the stamp, the car sat there for the whole day before i got peed off waiting and asked whats going on with my car and they said they couldnt getin on the ramps because of the body kit (it had a Zetec S standard ford body kit with 17's!) so they endede stamping my book and i did it my slef in 20 min! At the same time my dad took his alhamvra into seat and they were good as gold, even changed his air con unit becuase the button was slightly sticking, my food dealer wouldnt change the brakes after they failed (and was proven to be a fualty part!) Thtas why im now a very happy seat owner! No wonder there called Fix Or Repair Daily!

SEAT have changed the names of services, there is a big difference between an "Inspection Service" and an "Oil Change Service"
The "Inspection Service" has a lot more checks on it and takes longer. They both have new oil filter and new oil and they are the only parts that are changed.
To make services cheaper, take your own oil (it might be a pain but will save you £££s), ask that they dont top up the screen wash (some garages charge £3.00 for this) and ask that they dont use any addatives (petrol addative and engine flush can add £20.00 to a bill)

If you book you car in for a service, the garage should ask you the questions and give you the options. If you have had the car 6 months and done 10,000 miles then they should be offering an "oil change service" if you take your own oil, you would just be paying for a filter, a sump plug washer and about half an hours worth of time.

If you have had the car 11 months and done 8,000 miles then you should be offered an inspection service (this is like a yearly check + oil and filter change)

Dealers make thier money from the extras like the addatives, flushes and high oil prices. You do not have to have them and you can bring your own oil.

(I know as i work at a dealers)

Hope this helps you all.
If you have any questions feel free to ask

Thanks, some great advice there. I always thought the screen wash thing was a bit sneaky, yet I always forget to tell them not to use it.

I've had two services on mine now, 10k and 20k. Both were less than £120, but I suppose if you drive your car really hard all the time it will cost more. I'm a fairly sedate driver by most people's standards.
