Hi guys,

I brought an ibiza Fr last week, done 5000 miles and one year old, however the service book is totally empty, can you tell me if it should have had a service by now - i have some thought that new cars are supposed to have filters and oil changed after 1500 miles, as its worn in but im not sure, If you were me would you take it in for a service and what should the garage do? ie is it just oil and filters as i could probably do this myself....

thanks for any suggestion....

The services are every year or every 10K miles. If a year comes round first it needs a service after a year regardless of how low the mileage is. If 10K miles comes round in say 3 months then it needs it's first service then.

I've not heard anything about your 1500 mile thing before.

my first service was at 6600 miles or a year old, i think you should do a service every year to keep things in order plus if you are due one then there should be a little spanner next to were it shows how many miles you have done. If you do the service yourself then you have to use seat parts other wise if anything goes wrong your warranty will be void.

They should have stamped it. My dealer always asks where my service book is when I take mine in. Then I get it returned stamped along with my invoice.
