Nice mate!

You painted the vent holder too, nice idea. I can't do that as I have a pillar mount....

How many coats? Fancy sending me the left over paint? haha Joking of course (specially with Royal Mail prices!).

Mike

Vent holder was already satin black... but wanting a proper match for the gauge I gave it a couple of coats. Looks good :)

Only just had enough paint to spray it - used some knocking around in the garage :)

Well, I bought mine (secondhand), does exactly what it should, very clear to see, accurate, and the 10 colour option gives you a variation on appearance too...I find orangey matches std. dash in evening & white great match for dash during day, also blue looks stunning at night as matches blue on my Sony headunit. Maybe you got a bad one Lee,I'm delighted with mine...:funk:

For masking off tricky things I use this, its a great product used in the RC world for painting the RC bodies.
Ive used it on all types of plastics, metals and glass and have never had a problem with it. Paint it on, let it dry, spray your product then peel it off.

Not as quick as masking tape and a steady hand granted, but you can be sure the mask is good in all the delicate places with this.

.

Ordered same gauge just now... ;)

The video shows it is a perfect match to the red dials on our cars...

Although I've just realised it only reads down to -1.0 bar ... so won't be able to check for vacuum leaks using that gauge!

Bollocks :(

More hassle that its worth this!

Haha good man ;) I haven't fitted mine yet as I've been waiting on a Nomad pillar pod which came today so will be doin it later on.

Just so you know, it's got a weird connection system at the back; a rubber hose, valve piece and some securing nuts and a 2.8mm i/d - 3.2mm e/d nylon tube.... I'm unsure of the quality of the connection ato be honest! I've just trimmed the nylon tube down to about 2 inches so I can use as much of my current silicone hose as possible. I'll let you know how it looks/works when I get it all in after work. If it's a problem they can have it back and I'll keep my current one in for now!

Ok mate ... any pics of the connection?

Valve is probably to stabilise the needle?

Looks like they are out of stock now too ... as price gone up to £299! :D

I don't have any pics of the connectors, it's actually a taper more than a valve and I think the smaller tubing is to help with stabilising the needle as you said.

I do however have a pic of it fitted and lit up...

It fits in really nicely and with the bezel painted black looks very stealth in the day ;)

Looks good!

What does it idle at on the gauge?

Easy to swap out then with connectors?

Easily seen in day time?

:)

Well mine's a diesel so it idles at 0 to 0.2 bar.
The connectors are east to swap out, just follow the instructions for fitting the tapered bit, use as little of the nylon tube as possible (about 2 inches) and then plug your normal silicone/flexi hose in to the taper.

Yeah the visibility is good as the needle lights up along with the numbers and the dial is recessed enough to be seen in daylight. If I get chance I'll get a pic of that posted up after.
