Fitted New Headunit now probs

i fitted a new headunit yesterday but now the engine management light is on, is this because the speakers are not connected to standard unit? i took power straight from battery and negative to battery just took ignition from back of standard unit!

i took the connector for speakers out the standard unit and put into the new loom

is yours the standerd stereo the one with the climate control built in? and if so av you left the standerd stereo connected?

if the standard unit is still working you shouldnt have a problem ,

its all connected power wise but the speakers are no longer connected to the standard unit
