fitting 17" wheels

Hi.there
has anyone ever fitted 17" wheels to a mk3 before.
If so what size tyres are reccommended?
I was thinking 40 profile front and back?
i have a 30mm drop

i have 17's and im still all the way down on the coils

that drop will be fine mate

Will need to be 40 profiles to fit in the rear arches. I got caught out when local garages tried to fit 45.

yeah i purchased some "dare v4" wheels yesterday in 17's, gave them a nice refurb in my garage fronts where running 205 40 profile (abolsutley fine)
fitted the rear wheels and my tyres are kissing every single noticible angle of the reat arch. the 215 profile fits fine though

so youd reccommend just 40 profile will be fine?

i got 205/40/17" bbs lms on mine and its lowered with 12mm spacers on the back and still rides fine
