Fitting a factory stereo not originally from the car

Hi there,

My Ibiza Mk 4 came with an aftermarket HU installed and I really dislike it. The car would have originally come with the Alana radio and I would like to fit an Alana MP3 radio with the AUX input. I have searched on here but couldn't find the exact info I was looking for. If i just buy a used HU on eBay which comes with the code will it just work in my car? I would also like to know where abouts in the car the AUX input would have gone of the car had originally come with the MP3 unit as I'd like to make it look as factory as possible. I know it goes somewhere around the handbrake but I'm unsure exactly where. Finally, does anyone know where I can purchase an Aux in cable to install into the car and connect to the HU.

I could be wrong but the Aux port was only available from 2007 & is down by the handbrake in my car (57 plate).

I changed my head unit last year as the seat one started to play up & it looks so much better, plus you have the bonus of Bluetooth connectivity for your mobile phone, USB port for music on a pen drive.

The standard Alana MP3 radio should work in your Ibiza, providing no-one has chopped the wiring

My 2007 FR also has the AUX port near the handbrake as above ^^

Okay thanks!! Will have to check tomorrow about the wiring. Does anybody have a picture of the aux port location? As from looking at the car there are several locations around the handbrake where the port could be fitted.
