fitting a fmic

hi all
recieved my fmic today with pipes and joiners etc

will this be hard to fit etc

I don't know about thw TDI but if its the same as the cupra the intercooler supply and return pipes are at the same side. According to the pipe work in this set up it looks like it caters for this. Getting the bumper off is going to be a PITA unless you've done it before, I'm sure heaps of guys on here have done it and can help. I can help if the fixings are the same as the LCR
There doesn't seem to be any fixing points or fixings, I persume that the extra lugs at the side are to be driller for fixing

Basically you have a kit of bits that you need to make fit your car, it's going to be fairly slow going but not difficult as such, I just hope you have enough pipe and bends to make it work.......do you have access to a second car If you can't get this done in one day???

Bumper removal in itself is fun.....well getting it back on and lined up properly is fun IMO it's a 2 man job (Don't forget the torque bolts/screws inside wheel arches, one is vertical at top of bumper)

That FMIC looks quite thick I think you may need to trim the inside of the bumper to allow fitment.

Technically it's not difficult but it will be awkward.....if you have access to some proper ramps or a pit it would make the job easier and it's a lot easier with 2 people doing it.

LOL, more than happy to work on your car so long as you are happy with me doing it................for the record I'll have you know i've fecked up bigger jobs than bumper removal

brad and myself have removed many bumpers lol easy the hardest bit is going to fit the intercooler lol not looking forward to that!!but were prepared a whole week off work should give us enough time i hope

lol well to be honest we starting later today but it looks like its going to rain plus had to use up some annual leave so thought use it when doing fmic lol!!

I think people could guess but without seeing it in the flesh and testing it (logging via Vag Com etc) against a known bench mark it's impossible to tell
