Fitting a replacement stereo

Hi guys,

I bought my car with no stereo, the thing is there nothing but a large space with no where to mount a new one. How are they usually fastened into place? Will get some pics when I get some batteries for camera

you normally have a cage to fit them with dude!

ignore the wiring BS you can just buy an adapter plug for a 5er at halfords or erm an oz equivilant!

If it's a single din, (A bit bigger than a stereo) they come with a cage that you install first. I has metal tags that you bend to hold it in then the stereo clips into the cage. If it's a double din hole then I don't know.

ah I see guys, damn I got the stereo from ebay second hand and no DIN cage I have only installed them in JAP cars before and that was screws only

BTW my wiring harness has already been hacked to bits , any way to find out what the original wiring colours go to what speakers etc?

this is what you need its like a fiver if that down at any motor factors

Thanks man , I remember those things now. Will see if I can chase one up at a car audio install joint. They probably have millions of them left over from install jobs on jap cars
