Pabs;
a question if you'd be so kind;
To fit the front ARB did you have to drop the downpipe? does it go up over the down pipe or under it?

thanks

didnt fit the arb's myself, so don't really know - but I've heard that the subframe needs to be dropped in order to fit it all.

I recon the arb's have certainly helped the handling on the car - feels much tighter now.

Some peeps like fidge above have managed to lower the car by quite a lot and not need the arb's - I'm totally lost as to why this is unless they just don't drive the car hard enough, so don't notice it ;)

FK recommend this part: FKPSVW01 (drop links) for lowering 35mm+.

I'd recommend checking over on ukmkiv's as well and reading about the driveshaft clearance etc - thats where i got the images from.

thats the jobbie :)

Seems weird how different companies quote different drop figures tho - the FK website states their coilovers (highsports) drop 35-55mm. I have measured and I have dropped mine 30mm. Yet I had knocking problems, which awesome and fk say shouldnt happen unless dropped 45/55mm+.....

But hey, with the arb, at least u can drop it even more if u want to haha ;)

yep, well that is what i have ordered along with my konigsports so fingers crossed i wont have any problems. I wont be droping it too much as my drive is sloped and i cant get to my house, my girlfriends house, the gym, my work (the list is endless) without going over a number of speed bumps. i know lowering it will make it awkward, but there is awkward and impossible!
Just a bit lower than a std cupraR sits and i think i will be happy.
how do you personally find the ride with the highsports fixed damping? a bit harsh or ok?

well to be honest, I think they are fine. I'd say you feel more of the road, ie the lumps and bumps (which is to be expected) but its in no way hard/harsh.

To be honest, I know there are "better" kits out there, but I'm well chuffed with my highsports - decent value/quality and does the job nicely. I'm not into adjusting anything - i havent touched the ride height since fitting, and probably never will.

Also think the Highsports are good value for money. OK for everyday road use and the ride quality is perfectly acceptable. However the car does get unsettled on very uneven road surfaces - this has been discussed elsewhere and I think is an issue with the spring rates. TBH knowing what I know now I would have looked at other kits but (for me) the Highsports are not bad enough to warrant the expense of buying/fitting another kit given the type of driving I do in the car. I have an Evo VIII MR320 if I feel like a more spirited run out :D
