I have bought a new gear knob for my arosa, but can't work out how to ake the original off. The one i have bought is a screw on. But mine doesn't appear to screw off and i don't want to force it incase the new one doesn't fit. Any help would be very welcomed!
The lupo/arosa gear knobs are a one piece item. The only way to take them off in one piece is to pull the gaiter inside out over the stick and cut the metel clip at the bottom of the shaft.
Does it come off with the gaiter or is it possible to just remove the gearknob?
Reason why I ask is that I have ordered a standard replacement gear knob (from tristan) thinking this could be taken off seperate, didnt think about whether the gaiter was attached to the gearknob.
The gaiter will come off attached, but if it's a mk1 (or the mk2 is the same as a mk1), you can then separate the gaiter and gearknob once off the car.
