Custom gear knob

I'm planning on getting a custom gear knob. I'm pretty sure the stock one is attached with some clip-on mechanism. The issue is that everything I find is a screw-on with threads.

What can I do about this? I've looked into adapters but they get negative criticism and I'm not sure it would even work.

You could look at wearelikewise knobs, they come with a pinch bolt style adapter for this platform. Otherwise its very limited
