Oh okay. I don't know to be honest but that's what you do. I know they had a development car which was the Leon CR170 and that ran with the box for 100,000 miles with no problems.
They are better than some companies as if you buy new and there's problems you can go and see them and they will log the car and put it on the RR for you.

That's good news to hear that tuning box worked for you with your car, I'll be trying mine out sometime this week when it arrives, however don't forget to update your insurer because if you don't and you are involve in an accident which is most likely to be in fron of the car and can't open your burnet your f**k cuz the box will be there and the will find it and won't pay out so you will be forced to cover all expenses lol good luck
Why do you think tuning box is all about resistors? Maybe the were many years ago and still are ( very cheap ones on eBay for £5-80) but that does not mean the all have resistors and not another map for the car, it's like saying that because desktop computers are always plugged into power source the are better than laptops, laptops are portable and some of then are better than some (cheap - expensive) it does not mean that the are all bad when compared to desktop computers.
So tell us how a tuning box works??
And trust me MJ knows his things. He works at where they do REVO remap so he knows his things.
That's good to hear that he knows his thing, I don't know how this tuning box works but one thing I know is that all those cheap eBay tuning box are resistors that does not mean that all tuning box are resistors the maybe another box that has a program to work along side te ecu I don't know so I can really say.
If you remove a tab and fit it to another slot like Oli was on about or turn a dial then they all use resistors. Doesn't matter if they cost 50p or £500. All you're doing is moving the circuit to a circuit that runs more or less ohms.
I'm getting a bit bored of saying it now but:
It's all the same principal wether it uses a single resistor, a set of selective resistors or a processor.
They plug into sensors on the engine between the component and ecu and manipulate the sensor signal to trick the ecu so it adds more fuel and or boost. The ecu can only compensate so much for these false signals hence smoke, limp mode, poor starting etc. You need to get it out of your head that it works with the ecu, I does nothing of the sort.
They are a rubbish idea and I've seen them cause issues on several cars. I have nothing to do with them and niether do any tuning companies who really know anything about tuning or anyone who actually knows anything about how an engine management system works full stop.

Remap is always better, tuning box is for convience for cars still in warranty, removed any time, or use on another car. It doesnt produce the maximum potential but it still does the job.
DTUK does the CRD technology tunung box. Its not a resistor in a box but consist of different maps, same as an ecu remap. These are generic map loaded in the chip and can be chsnged based on driver preferences.
