As above get a transponder from hickleys or you can get the top half of the key with uncut blade and virgin transponder from ebay

I stay in Salford during the week and could code it for you (depending on what car you have)

Thanks mate. I have a Mk4 2003 Ibiza TDI
Will give you a shot when i need it doing

ive had mine for a year no issues at all, ive put a lot of replies up in the FAQ's already but it does seem to be complete luck as to how to pair to the car etc.

the most common way of getting the transponder is if you have a spare no remote key, cut it up and take the transponder out and bung it in the flip.

Alex, when you come to Edition i'll show ya what you need and how i programmed it

hi all.

What are the quality of these 2/3 button remotes you get on ebay? I bought one for my last car and the keyblade snapped from the housing in the ignition!

Would also like to know the answer to Brad's question as i only have one key too...

well they are genuine vag keys more often than not, if not advertised ask, i've had mine a year no problems at all, just the same as the original.

With regards to the transponder I thought you could use the one from your spare key if you have one?
There was a thread on here some where showing how to set it up

*just realised some one has said this further up!*

Have now got a 3 button flip key for eBay
Getting the key cut this weekend.
I know how to set you the remote (key in door job)
But how do you program the transponder? is that done with the remote set as above or do i need a VAG.com

The immobiliser chip can be programmed with VAG-COM/VCDS but you'd need to know the SKC (Secret Key Code) before hand. I'm 99% sure you would not know this, the dealer won't tell you either. So you'd actually need VAG-Tacho which costs mega bucks.

Your best bet is to take it to a key coding place that will clone the coding from one of your existing keys. I estimate it would cost ~£30. Or, if you a remote or non-remote key that you don't use, you could remove the chip from the key and it insert it in the new one.

Let us know how you get on, I quite fancy a flip key sometime soon.
