I take it the central locking works manually yes?

edit: the method I used to get our fob working was as follows:

1 ignition on to red lights on dash
2 turn off immediately and pull key out
3 hold 1 of the buttons down (dont matter which)
4 PRESS the other 3 times ( with a SLIGHT pause) 1 . 2 . 3
5 watch led on key (should flash) and doors usually try lock/unlock
6 turn ignition key back on to red lights and wait 5 sec
7 key out again and test operation

if i turn key once in drivers door it locks that
if i hold it
it locks boot and passengers.

is it best to take it into seat?
how much would they charge to look at it and diagnose it?

about 60 to 75 quid you need to check key fob is working. only way is a key tester dealers will have this so ask them to test it for you its free ok

Mine stopped working the other day, just used the steps above and it worked :)

You do need to muck about locking/unlocking the door from the inside before hand though, as said above.

Thanks, basically should I find someone with a similar car and try programming there fob to my car, if that doesn't work it's something internally in my car?

when my remote lost its memory i had to do the procedure with the drivers door open for it to work. Keep trying it a few times mate as sometimes it takes a few attempts (or it did for me anyway)
