I'm going to optimize the OEM Seat sound system a bit.

What hardware will be installed:

Front: Focal INSIDE IS-VW-180

Rear: Focal INSIDE IS-VW-165

DSP: Focal Impulse 4.320

Front Installation:

The tweeters have already been replaced. The INSIDE IS VW series is not officially approved for retrofitting in the Seat.

The 180mm Focal models will be installed in the front. The tweeters are the same, whether 180mm or 165mm...

Remove the A-pillar trim, simply pull it off, disconnect the tweeters, and then you can comfortably work on the trim at a table.

- Remove the original tweeters

- Now install the brackets for the new tweeters.

- Fit the existing adapter with the correct connectors so that you can connect to the OEM wiring.

That's sufficient for me for now. I've already installed both sides in the vehicle.

For me, it's a significant improvement and I'm satisfied. With insulation, etc., it will probably be even better.

So, the starting signal for part 2 of the VW Focal INSIDE VW project...

Are you using hot glue?
My daughters made their grandad a wooden 'ship' from wood scraps using my hot glue gun - they put it in their conservatory, to find it in pieces on the floor after a hot day!

Hi sir, I retrofitted SEAT Sound to my 2020 facelift Leon. While there’s a significant improvement over the stock setup, I feel that the tweeters are still underwhelming. The center speaker feels too dominant, and the high-end frequencies aren't as crisp as they should be, making the overall soundstage feel incomplete.

Because of this, I’m considering replacing the front door speakers with the Focal Inside IS VW 180 set. If I’m satisfied with the results, I might do the rear doors as well.

I saw you did the same swap without adding an external amplifier. Is the installation truly plug-and-play? Did it require any drilling, cutting, or major modifications? Most importantly, did you notice a significant improvement in the high-end frequencies and the overall staging at the front?"

You have Change Dataset from mib2 After Retrofit Seat Soundsystem?
Yes, it was changed via ODIS (not by me). The subwoofer setting added to the menu. The frequency separation of the speakers is now as it should be. The subwoofer only plays the lowest frequencies, the lowest frequencies don't reach the doors, and only mid-range frequencies come from the center speaker.
