Well I take back what I said earlier... mine is exactly the same as yours :(

Even the fact that when set to Auto, if the lights come on you can't turn them off.

But then oddly and for no apparent reason, everything started working tonight - fog lights and all! Light indicators on the switch illuminated that never usually do, including AUTO and everything was as it should be.

Goodness knows if it will stay like that mind

Will let you know.... ;)

It does seem to be a switch problem, I would not have thought that any "electronics" would cause this... it seemed strange when I pulled the switch in and out a few times, then rotated it a few times it worked... like a faulty contact..

I did not pull the switch out to disturb the wiring on the back...

The odd thing is I didn't do anything to get mine working. Well... I put fuel in the tank  It came back on after stopping for fuel on the way home tonight. But it was on AUTO the whole time, so I didn't move it once.

Odd thing.

FIXED!!!! so far anyway :)

1 fault code was the switch, new switch has fixed it.... well it was when I parked it up :)

Silly question... if it is lightish, almost daylight outside, and the auto lamps have put the lights on... the switch on the mirror for the auto dimming.... is usually lit up red at night when it is very dark outside... what is it like during the lightish moments? is it off or on? I think it may work off the sensors in the mirror, which may work at a different level to the light sensor... mine was off just..

At least all the lights work now :)

In mine the green light on the rear view mirror is on all the time, it only turns red if it I push the power button.

Great news that yours is fixed though :D

Hope your problem is the same... maybe a batch of faulty switches....

I noticed when I drove away from the dealer the auto lamps were on, but the on/off switch on the mirror was not lit up, the green light was.... I will see what it does when I go home tonight, so it will be dark.... maybe it only illuminates when the auto dipping sensor get dark....

May have found a new fault :)

Just glad all my light work now, that's the main thing...

The button on the mirror does illuminate... but only when it is dark.... Did have a bit of a scare with the lamps tonight.... drove home from work, no problem... parked the car on the drive, when I went back out to the car, started it, no headlamps..... panic set in....

All of a sudden they worked..... guess what was casuing the problem..... the outside flood light on the drive :) it must have been that bright, and aimed at the sensor, they came on when the light went off.... the car thought it was daylight... what an idiot :)

 I'd have done the same, it's that split second where you're so worried about something not working, common sense goes out of the window!

Good to hear more good reports mind you. Mine goes in next Wednesday :)

I felt a right pratt..... :) the sensor must be very sensitive... m old Leon never did that with the flood light..

I had a strange feeling for a few minutes the bloody thing has to go back... the lamps don't work at all now:wtf::cry:

 I suspect your's will need a switch the same.. I am convinced as the cars were built so close together there is a faulty batch of switches...

Well it went in today and after a mornings work, Seat agree it's the switch... but they don't hold the item in stock so it's going back in next Wednesday to be repaired.

Ho-Hum.. progress is progress...
