i have just ordered a forge splitter valve and will be running it atmospheric and recirc.
just passing through and thought id see if any one knew what the best setting is for the ratchet knob for my 180T. im guessing they're fairly easy to fit? like for like but on the side?

any advice would be appreciated. thanks

Real easy to fit, I've got a split-r on my LCR.
Ran it with the trumpet for a while but now have the blanking plug fitted.
Never seemed to boost as strong with the trumpet, and gave a fault code about pressure drop at dv!
With a stainless powertec cone filter and TIP my split-r still sounds quite loud.
My revo remap made it louder still!
Hope this helps.

all ive had done to my 180T is put a jetex pannel inside the box. i picked it up with a k&n cone but it seemed to knock out the MAF. i keep getting told to get a new MAF but ive npow been told it could be my bosch divertor.

is there a certain setting for the valve on the 'ratchet system'?

cheers mate.

Don't bother with the splitter valve it will give you problems fault codes etc you should of gone for the 007p the best valve and highly recommended on this forum.

I ran one for just over a week till I got limp mode and fault codes, they ain't worth the hassle and the cars run rich with them fitted too. I had mine done up 23 clicks and mine was a 225 I remember reading ages ago about 16 clicks is good for 180 you just have to play to get the right setup for your car.

20 - 22 clicks clockwise is the best setting on a standard cupra. I've had mine on for over a year without any issues or any fault codes.

it must be down to previous mods i guess then. theyt do say no cars the same!.

well ill try the SPLT-R and have a fiddle between 20 and 23 clicks.

is this starting from the bottom (fully anticlock wise and then counting up clockwise)?????

cheers guys if i start getting fault codes ill hapily swap for the 007p.

reason i wanted the SPLT-R was so i d get a bit of noise and still gettin some recirculated. does the 007p give you noise?

found loads of VAG COMs on ebay. which one do i go for? url please!

Yes screw it right off anti clockwise and turn it in counter clockwise 20 - 22 clicks.

I found the split r not that loud i was i bit disappointed with it sound wise. the 007p does make a unique noise when you reverse it, also its the more logical way to have the dump valve with boost pressure acting against the spring rather than on the side i find the car more responsive this way.

its just as load as the splitter valve, i like the 007p reversed and so do alot of others on this site save yourself 150 quid and do that instead.

In my opinion that is!!!

ok so when you say reverse it your puting the recirc part sticking out rather than in the hose?
dont see how i can save 150 quid tho coz the cheapest ive found the 007p is 85 quid??????

so reversing the 007p doesnt recirculate anything? just dumps it all out? id like the recirculation but still get a noise which is why i was going to fit the SPLT-R.

HELP!!

 when it's fitted in reverse it's still 100% recirculating. So this is how it's fitted. The port on the side of the dv goes into the tip, the bottom of the dv joins the turbo pipe. I think you can get the forge 007p from awesome gti for about £70

ok mate. just wanted to make surei wasnt visiting the specialist every week to get it plugged in to the vag com lol. cheers mate. so does fitting it that way just give you more noise (saves spending on the splt-r i guess) correct?

god im crap at this

i do like that you know!
although it doesnt have much of a chatter it sounds good.
im now looking into the 007p

cheers mate. i noticed your pillar dials. can i be cheeky and ask how much you got them for?

yep i like it aswel :)
i had a boost leak at the time of that video so it does actually sound better when it was sorted.
as for the pillar. the mount was about £50 delivered, and both gauges were £100 for the 2. these are stepper motor gauges (electronic)

Hey all,

I gota 007p, quite a subtle dump noise but just orderd up a split r as LOVE my mates! so many ppl I know have them with no probs, so we will see.
ok - reversing the 007p.......... surely the pistons ment to be forced upward releasing the excess air yes......... so by reversing it - your not forcing the piston up at all?!?!

Or is my mind playing tricks on me?!
