A Headache, shredded fingers, snapped oil dip stick later and its still not done.

Getting the standard intake pipe off was easy and i did it from above the engine.

But now i cant get the Forge TIP onto the turbo, just will not go on! Someone come and do it for me.... [:@]

have you trimmed the end down which goes onto the turbo? needs 20-30mm trimmed off it so it fits properly.. also helps to move the coolant pipe out of the way to gain access.

Just searching for answers now. I have trimmed off a tiny bit, literally 2mm, as i was scared of fooking it. You say up to 30mm needs to come off?! Why did Forge make them like this?

Anyway thanks for the reply Bill, i'll get to trimming later.

Honestly can't see why you need to jack the car up though, its ok to get to from above (sitting on the inlet mani. lol)

the spool ant that grate but its alot more darth vader like

you will find it easyer to trim 30mm off then feed it in from the top and it should go by that hard pipe that is close realy easy,

(tip)

i put a very small amount of oil round the outside of the turbo so the tip will slide over easyer

Saaaafe. 30mm it is then.

I dont think i'll do the oil tip, im going to be using a really shite jubilee clip so i need it to be as tight to the turbo as poss.

i had to do the same with the trimming on mine...worth it once its on though...and agreed with the jubilie clip using a crap one is just asking for more trouble and more work later on.

the majority of silicone pipes come too long and need trimming .well they did in my golf

Finally finished fitting this last night. Sounds dope, the spool up and dump is so crisp now.

Was a real struggle, but its done now. Used the oil round the turbo inlet tip, so thanks.

how you manage to break that when doing the TIP!

I never trimmed mine :| took few hours to fit as was trying to fit it without moving that metal pipe originally.. when i found the bolt to undo that it wasnt too bad.

This baffled me too, its just the 5mm Alan key (spelling) bolt
